A warm international family based in Estrela, Lisbon is looking for a proactive, educationally-minded nanny with Montessori training or a strong understanding of the Montessori approach. The family has three children aged 5 months, 2 and 4 years, although the nanny’s main focus will be on the two older girls, who attend Montessori school/nursery. Montessori training or certification is highly valued and, for the right candidate, the family would be happy to fund a Montessori 0–3 course. The children are growing up multilingual and currently speak English, German, French and Portuguese. The family would love a native or fluent French or German speaker who can naturally support their language development through everyday interaction. The family is looking for much more than traditional babysitting. They would love someone who is curious, playful, creative and genuinely passionate about children’s learning and development, and who can become an active part of their children’s educational journey. The nanny will work collaboratively with a parent who is at home and should feel comfortable bringing their own ideas and taking an active role in the children’s learning and development. The role also includes international travel with the family and occasional sole-charge care when the parents travel without the children. A young international family based in São Vicente, Lisbon is looking for a warm, attentive and experienced nanny to support them with their 4-month-old baby boy. The parents are gradually establishing their baby’s routines and are looking for someone who can work collaboratively with them, follow the routines they are introducing and provide consistent, responsive care as their baby grows. Schedule & Position • From 19 October: 3 afternoons per week, approximately 16:00/17:00–20:00 • Flexible choice of weekdays • Around 2 evening babysitting sessions per month • ASAP start possible • Additional daytime hours available before the baby starts crèche on 19 October • Long-term position • Live-out • €12–€14/hour, depending on experience About the Role The family would particularly value someone with a good understanding of infant care and development, who is attentive to the baby’s cues and genuinely enjoys engaging with him through age-appropriate play, interaction and developmental activities. The parents are gradually introducing more structure to their baby’s routines, so they would like a nanny who is comfortable working collaboratively with them and providing consistency as those routines develop. From 19 October, the baby will attend crèche and the regular schedule will transition to three afternoons per week. Before then, the family can offer additional daytime support and is flexible in arranging the schedule. Schedule & Position • Monday–Friday, 08:00–19:00 • 1-hour lunch break • Start around November 2026, with some flexibility for the right candidate • Long-term position • Live-in option available, with a private bedroom and bathroom in a separate studio • €12–€14/hour, with some flexibility for an exceptional candidate About the Role The family would ideally love a native Spanish speaker who also speaks English, allowing the children to have natural exposure to Spanish as part of their everyday lives. They are looking for someone calm and patient who is confident setting appropriate boundaries and providing structure while respecting the family’s routines and parenting choices. The role also includes preparing simple, healthy meals for the children, keeping their spaces organised, managing the children’s laundry and providing occasional light household support related to the family’s day-to-day routine. The mother works from home, so the nanny should be comfortable working alongside a parent while confidently taking responsibility for the children.
